A matter of respect
Bad news travels fast on the Internet, especially for creators who have their visuals plagiarized. The law, however, sets clear limits. So are we still at the mercy of law breakers? (Check complete article in IDPURE N°19 – by Corinne Moesching)

Responding to the previous comment there are also a lot of small designers copying big names and companies albeit usually ones of days gone by. Today pastiche is too often mistaken for originality, it seems that every half a year an old designer (like for example Aicher or Lubalin) resurfaces, triggered by exhibition or book release. Its not often you see entirely original work these days and when you it can be very rewarding but really is that what graphic design is about? Seems (to me) to be a more appropriate subject for the fashion industry where originality really matters. |
